It’s me, Rachael’s sister-in-law Rachelle, sneaking on to let you know it’s her BIRTHDAY today!!

She would never let anyone know so I’m determined to get this up before she notices 🤣.

🎉HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY to our Queen! We had our first ever team meet up this past weekend and someone said, “is Rachael actually magic?”. Because it is BEYOND the scope of normal human capability what she manages to get done.
She leads in wisdom, courage, and with the most sincerely humble heart I have ever encountered.

I’ve watched her spend all day with 4 boys literally (literally at times!) jumping on her head, nourishing them and tending to each one of their requests with surreal patience, and then when they are tucked into bed, awake until well past midnight researching, working, creating, writing. There are no true days off.

Rachael pours her heart into this community in the most beautiful, selfless way. I’ve watched her and her husband Rog running around at 10pm, grabbing extra magnesium bottles they had at home to personally get into the hands of a desperate mum whose child needed them when the warehouse had already closed for the weekend.
I’ve watched her answer Instagram messages into the early morning hours when this thing was just starting.

She gives everyone else the credit, is the biggest cheerleader for all of us on the team, she celebrates every win with all of you, and has been brought to tears countless times by your stories and reviews.

Rachael is brave, kind, warm, and even though she is as tiny as a little bird in real life, her heart is HUGE and this community has been unbelievably blessed to have her.
I think Heaven has angels on speed dial for her - when Rachael prays, miracles happen. It is a force, and an infinitely valuable gift to witness and be a part of.

For everything you have freely poured into your people at home, in the team, for our customers, and for people who will never even use our supplements but have said that your story helped them feel less alone: THANK YOU.

Our hearts are so full.
We’re so thankful for this team and for all of you who have been part of the Mighty Kids journey from the very beginning — you know who you are.

We truly wished we could have had everyone with us to celebrate the many Mighty Kids miracles and the goodness this community has brought to life.

We shared the most beautiful spread — local sourdoughs, cheeses, fruits, veg and meats — with a few Mighty Kids Bake favourites on the table too (the sweet potato brownies disappeared fast!).

A lot goes into producing our supplements. It would be easy enough to source the cheapest and easiest ingredients, throw some packaging on, and invest in a bit of marketing.

But that’s not what Mighty Kids is about. We didn’t just make these to sell them, we made them to take them. We did the hard work, so you don’t have to!

More on cooking fats!, I stick to stable fats that don’t oxidise easily: ghee, tallow, and coconut oil. I avoid seed oils completely (except for carefully treated, cold-pressed oils used cold), and I’m gentle when heating olive oil to help preserve its antioxidants and flavour.

Modern studies show that high-quality extra virgin olive oil is quite stable at typical cooking temperatures (around 120–170°C / 250–340°F), especially if kept below its smoke point (~190°C / 374°F for good EVOO).

It retains much of its antioxidant content and does not produce harmful byproducts like seed oils do.

We know that purists prefer not to heat olive oil at all — to preserve every drop of its delicate antioxidants and keep its flavour at its best.

Which of-course is the gold standard!

But Like most things, it’s about balance: we love the taste of olive oil in our croutons when gently cooked so we do sacrifice a small amount of the polyphenols and antioxidants in heating.

This study is a helpful reminder of how unstable seed oils really are — they oxidise easily when heated and form inflammatory compounds.

The study concludes oxidative stability, not smoke point, is the key factor for cooking oil safety - and in that measure, all seed oils performed poorly.

I know seed oils are part of many people’s everyday cooking, and I respect everyone’s right to choose what works for them — this is just where the science has led me for our family
